About Us

A nurse from Murwillumbah, and a mission that grew across an ocean.

Kenya Health was founded by Lyle Burgoyne, a registered nurse and midwife from Murwillumbah, NSW. We are an organisation dedicated to providing health care to women and young children in Kenya. However, our caring volunteers will see anyone present at our clinics.

These people otherwise have very limited access to medical care. Our aim at Kenya Health is to provide medicine, medical treatment and education to help these people achieve better health.

Our Projects

Three programs.
One mission.

Our work in Kenya is diverse — all of it centred on medical care and education for those who need it most. Every donation flows directly into one of these programs.

01 Medical care and surgery program

Medical & Surgeries

From routine consultations to life-saving surgical missions — partnering with local hospitals and clinicians to deliver care that would otherwise be out of reach for rural communities.

02 Mobile clinic in rural Kenya

Clinics

Mobile and church-based clinics that travel to villages with no permanent medical presence — providing check-ups, vaccinations, essential medicines and maternal care.

03 Infrastructure program

Infrastructure

Building and renovating the spaces — clinics, water access, learning rooms — that allow local communities to continue providing care long after our volunteers return home.

Coming to Kenya to volunteer with Kenya Health was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Every donation, whether in funds or supplies, goes directly to where it's needed most — I saw it firsthand. The transparency and commitment of the team inspired me to not only give my time, but also to continue supporting from home and return.

The accommodation exceeded my expectations — clean, comfortable, and a real sense of community. After each clinic day, we'd come together to cook, share stories, and plan for the next day. The staff made us feel safe and at home, and the location gave us a taste of local life.

Volunteering with Kenya Health was life-changing. The mobile clinics we ran reached communities that often have no access to regular medical care. Seeing the gratitude on people's faces made the long days completely worth it. The work was challenging, but knowing we were making a real difference kept us going.
